PROFESSIONAL SERVICES CONTRACT FOR
ENGINEERING SERVICES
WHEREAS, there exists a need for professional services to provide electrical
control and pump evaluation; and prepm'ation of request for quotation for the
necessary service contract for each system in connection with the Roosevelt
Avenue Pump Station; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:ll-5(1)(a) professional services are
exempt from requirements of competitive bidding; and
WHEREAS, the local finance officer has certified that funds are available.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mayor and Council of the
Borough of Carteret does hereby approve the appointment of Killam & Associates
at a maximum cost of not to exceed $6,200.00 billable per attached contract.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Mayor and Borough Clerk are hereby
authorized to execute said contract.
IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that the contract is awarded without competitive
bids in accordance with N.J.S.A. 40A:ll-5(1)(a) due to the specialized and
professional nature of the services provided.
Adopted this 5th day of October, 2000
and certified as a true copy of the original
on October 6th, 2000.

THE CONTRACTOR does hereby agree to perform the following
PROFESSIONAL SERVICE TO POOVIDE ENGiNEERiNG SERVICE ELECTRICAL
CONTROL & PUMP EVALUATION AND PREPARATION OF REQUEST FOR
QUOTATION FOR THE NECESSARY SERVICE CONTRACT FOR EACH SYSTEM
iN CONNECTION WITH THE ROOSEVELT AVE., PUMP STATION.
NOT TO EXCEED $6,200.00
According to the terms set forth in Resolution.
THE INDEMNIFICATION AGREEMENT ON
THE REVERSE OF THE PURCHASE ORDER
SHALL BE LIMITED TO THE VENDOR'S
NEGLIGENT OR WRONGFUL ACTS.
THE BOROUGH does hereby agree to pay the Contractor the sum set
forth in Resolution.
