HomeMy Public PortalAbout2012-29 Resolution Authorizing Publication of Ord 527Member Pederson introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: CITY OF MEDINA RESOLUTION NO.2012-29 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PUBLICATION OF ORDINANCE NO. 527 BY TITLE AND SUMMARY WHEREAS, the city council of the city of Medina has adopted Ordinance No. 527, an ordinance regarding Private Wells on property served by the City Water Supply System; and WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes, section 412.191, subd. 4, allows publication by title and summary in the case of lengthy ordinances or those containing charts or maps; and WHEREAS, the ordinance is 4 pages in length; and WHEREAS, the city council believes that the following summary would clearly inform the public of the intent and effect of the ordinance. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Medina that the City Administrator -Clerk shall cause the following summary of Ordinance No. 527 to be published in the official newspaper in lieu of the entire ordinance: Public Notice The city council of the city of Medina has adopted Ordinance No. 527. The ordinance regulates the installation of Private Wells for Domestic Use on property where the City Water Supply System is available. The ordinance prohibits installation of new wells in these areas with the exception of irrigation wells, which supplement water stored in stormwater ponds to be used to irrigate lawns and landscaping. The ordinance also regulates the installation of these irrigation wells. The full text of Ordinance No. 527 is available for inspection at Medina city hall during regular business hours. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the city council of the city of Medina that the City Administrator keep a copy of the ordinance in the clerk's office at city hall for public inspection and that the City Administrator post a full copy of the ordinance in a public place within the city.
