Earlier today you contacted this office requesting clarification on our previous invoicing with
respect to the amounts paid by the Village. as well 35 concerns on the latest fee proposal for
the additional scope of work. Specifically, two questions were posed:
1. Ha the Pillage received the approximately $15,000 credit as offered by the
Robert G. Currie Partnership, Inc. for work previously completed, and
2. Would we consider reducing our fee for Architectural Services from the proposed
$499,500.00.
A5 to the first c(uestion, the attached spreadsheet should clarify payments received by this
office since the first biIIIng In November of 1999. Note that we only invoiced for the schematic
design portion of the original Agreement for Architectural Services, dated August 2,1999.
Following that, on May 15, 2000, you authorized this office to perform additional plans, and a
model, for presentation to the Village Council (see attached letter). This work was to be
completed at a not -to -exceed amount of 5,500.00 dollars. The actual cost For that work was
$8,100.00 dollars, and we absorbed the 2,600.00 it cost to complete the work.
On October 11, 2000, a new Agreement for Architectural Services was approved and we agreed
that all costs incurred by this firm between the end of June, 2000, and the end of November,
2000, would be absorbed (an estimated $15,000.00). Since the revised Agreement was
approved, we never billed the Village for anv of this time. What we have done Is bill for schematic
design on the new Agreement, and the Village has paid those invoices through February, 2001.

On February 12, the Pillage authorized this office to proceed with construction documents
based on the plans reviewed and approved by the Village Council in February. Since that time,
we have incurred over $20,000.00 in additional changes to the plans which are still being
modified by the Village. A5 long as some sort of closure i5 imminent at the meeting of April 10,
2001, we are willing to absorb this extra work, but by all rights we should seek additional
compensation.
As to your second question, our fee Is more than fair and we are not willing to agree so a lesser
amount. Should you consult with the State of Florida, Department of Management Services,
Fee Schedule (see attached), you will see that a reasonable fee for the complexity and cost of
the work should be 5.67 of the cost of construction, estimated to be at $10,500.00 including
the parking garage and the pool. That equates to a fee of $588,000.00
With all the back -and -forth we have had in getting to this point, and the over $35,000.00 in
fees we have absorbed to -date, our proposed fee is more than fair. The Village Council has
approved a revised fee of $447,500.00 for the larger building and parking structure below, and
as directed by the Village, we have proceeded with that work. The addition of the pool
conatitute5 additional scope, and the fee for that added work is firm at $52,000.00. Please
advise how you wish u5 to proceed.
Sincerely,
