BILL NO. 2005-89 SPONSORED BY COUNCILMAN FERGUSON ORDINANCE NO. 13 c 56:1 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,MISSOURI,AMENDING CHAPTER 34, ARTICLE III OF THE CODE PERTAINING TO TRANSIT CHARTERS AND SPECIAL ROUTES WHEREAS, the Federal Transit Administration requires that grantees not compete with willing and able charter providers; and that grantees recover the fully allocated cost of providing charter services if they are offered; and WHEREAS, clarification is needed in the area of "Special Routes," NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 34-28, Charter service fares and procedures, is hereby amended as follows (no change to language; language to be added; language to be stricken) Section 34.28,Charter service fares and procedures. The following shall be the costs and procedures to charter a city transit system bus: A. Charter service is subject to vehicle and driver availability. B. Written requests for charter service should be made to the transit supervisor. C. 'rhe request should include the number of persons,pick up points and time,destinations, and contact person with address and phone number. D. Charter service will not exceed a two live-mile limit outside of Ibe city limits. E. The charge for charter service will be one hundred($1011)per hour of service time per bus per day with n three hour minimum charge per bus per day. Service time will be Ile time between the scheduled pick up time and arrival at scheduled destination,excluding any breakdown time. If store than one trip can be scheduled during a day,then the service lime will be the accumulation of each individual trip service lime.Standby little shall be billed at ale charter service fare rate.(Ord.
