The election returns of the General Election held on March 5th, 1946 were filed with the Commission and canvassed. It was deter- mined that eight(8) votes were cast as follows: For Mayor W.Seward Webb 8 votes For Vice Mayor L.Seton Lindsay 8 votes For Town Clerk Wm.J.Bauer 8 votes We the Commission of the Town of Gulf Stream, Florida acting as a Board of Canvassers for the purpose of examining the returns of the election held in the Town of Gulf Stream,Florida on March 5th, 1946 do hereby certify that an examination of the Certificate of the Clerks and one 16spector of the general election held on Match 5th,1946, showed the above result. We hereby certify that from the above returns the following persons have been elected to the Offices respectful -y shown opposite their names. A motion was made and carried, accepting the above report and de- claring the results of the election to be as follows: W. Seward Webb elected to the office of Mayor. Wm.J.Bauer administered the oath to W.Seward Webb, who administered the Oath to L.Seton Lindsay who administered the oath to Wm.d.Bauer The Commissioners approved the payment of a bill to Advo Studios for $29.40 for signs, to Delray Beach News $6.30 for stationery and to Wm.J.Bauer $250.00 being salary for year plus $10.00 postage and to Florida State Bank $9.00 Safe Deposit Box Rent. The Commissioners approved engaging some firm to Sweep the Boulevard twice a year. C.Y.B,,rrd, Town Attorney was authorized to tx inquire into Type and Cost of Insurance necessary to protect the Town against any suits that may arrise from accidents on highways in the Town. A Zoning Ordinance for the Town of Gulf Stream was offered as prepared by Town Attorney C.Y.Byrd, which was read in full for the first time and passed on its first reading. Attorney C.Y.Byrd was authorized to file defense on behalf op the Town re: the "Smith" accident which occurred on November 6,1945. Town of Gulf Stream, Florida. / '2' karch 23,1946. The Commissioners approved retaining Policeman Bruce Wheeler until March 31st,1946 p.m. There being no further business to come before the Commission, the meeting adjourned.
