TOWN OF GULF STREAM, FLORIDA.
The Town Commission of the Town of Gulf Stream, Florida,
met at the Town Hall on April 8, 1947, with Town Commissioners
W. Seward Webb, L. Seton Lindsay and William J. Bauer, present.
The minutes of the previous meetings were read and approved,
and on motion duly made, seconded, unanimously adopted.
A general discussion of the Town's affairs was had, and
it was decided that the Town Clerk and Tax Assessor should immediately
prepare the Town 1947 Tax Assessment Roll, using the values on said
Tax Roll the same as those set by the County Tax Assessor, so that
all valuations of the land in the Torn would be uniform and on the
same valuation basis as those adopted and approved by the County Tax
Assessor and equalized by the Board of County Commissioners.
Torn Clark and Tax Collector William J. Bauer reported
that all taxes levied and assessed on the 1946 Tax Roll, with the
exception of ZJ, had been paid.
The Town Commission discussed with the Town Clerk the
adoption of a tentative Torn budget for 1947 -48, and instructed
the Town Clerk to prepare a tentative budget which should include
the following items:

Policeman year round
salary 2400.00
Town Clerk 600.OU
Street lights 300.00
Cleaning streets 100000
Miscellaneous 100.00
Fire 500.00

After a general discussion of the above and foregoing proposed
Town Budget, it was regularly moved, seconded and unanimously
carried, that the above and foregoing items and amounts be a dopted
as the tentative and proposed 1947 -48 Town of Gulf Stream Budget.
It was further moved, seconded, and unanimously carried,
that the Town Clerk and Tax Assessor was authorized and instructed
to extend a millage of four mills against the proposed 1947 -48
Tax Roll so as to produce in taxes.
It is further discussed by the Commission the advisability
of having the pine needles and debris removed from the Ocean Boule-
vard north of the Golf Club house, and Town Clerk Bauer was in-
structed to proceed in having this work done during the summer
months.
There was also a general discussion as to keeping Police
Officer Cooper on duty so as to give the residence properties police
protection through the summer, and the Commission instructed Clerk
Bauer to have Police Officer Cooper remain on duty throughout the
year.
