AN ORDINANCE OF THE CiTY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH J. C. INDUSTRIES, INC. FOR THE HIGHWAY 54 PUMP STATION, FORCE MAIN AND GRAVITY SEWER PROJECT. WHEREAS, J. C. Industries, Inc. has become the apparent lowest and best bidder on the Highway 54 Pump Station, Force Main and Gravity Sewer project; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The bid of J. C. Industries, Inc, is declared to be the lowest and best bid and is hereby accepted. Section 2.The Mayorand City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute an agreement • with J. C. Industries, Inc. for the Highway 54 Pump Station, Force Main and Gravity Sewer project. Section 3. The agreement shall be substantially the same In form and content as that agreement attached hereto as Exhibit A. Section 4. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after the date of Its passage and approval. Sixteen firms requested plans and specifications. FISCAL NOTE: 6400-9820-7310-0050 - Highway 54 Punnp Station • 2005-2006 Budget $ 2,842,000.00 Expended—' -0- Encumbered -0- Bid No. 2251 $ 2,372.695.00 Balance $ 469,305.00 Funds will be reappropriated from the 2004-2005 budget to the 2005-2006 budget. PAST PERFORMANCE: J. C. Industries, Inc. has been awarded City projects in the past and has completed the work as specified and bid. RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends award of the bid to J. C. Industries, Inc. of Jefferson City, Missouri at a total cost ot'$2,372,695.00. The bids have been evaluated and checked for math errors.Of the two bids received,the low is for J.C.Industries,Inc. Based on our review,we recommend acceptance of the base bid with the low bidder J.C. Industries,Inc.,P.O.Box 104567 Jefferson City,MO 65110. The bid is$2,372,695.00.This is 16%under the engineer's estimate. • The project will be expensed as follows after reappropriation: J.C.
