Member Weir introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
CITY OF MEDINA
RESOLUTION NO.2012-78
RECOGNIZING GIRL SCOUT SERVICE UNIT OF WESTONKA-ORONO
FOR THEIR CENTENNIAL DAY OF SERVICE TO THE CITY OF MEDINA
WHEREAS, the Girl Scouts celebrated their 100th Anniversary on October 13, 2012, by
holding a day of service; and
WHEREAS, the Day of Service for Girl Scout Troops 10977 Cadette Troop, 12000
Ambassador Troop, 12239 Cadette Troop, 12424 Cadette Troop, 14200 Junior Troop, 14201
Brownie Troop, and 15042 Junior Troop included raking and bagging leaves, cleaning and marking
street drains and handing out informational door hangers in Independence Beach, Elm Creek and
Cherry Hill neighborhoods that promote keeping streets and drains clear of organic matter; and
WHEREAS, the Girl Scouts spent 2 'h hours working together collecting 152 bags of
leaves, handing out 330 informational door hangers, and marking 55 storm drains with stickers,
reading, "Only Rain Down the Storm Drain;" and
WHEREAS, the City of Medina expresses sincere gratitude for the Girl Scouts dedication
and continued service to the Medina community.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Medina
acknowledges and thanks the Girl Scout's for service to the community.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member
Martinson and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof:
Crosby, Martinson, Pederson, Siitari, Weir
And the following voted against same:
None
Whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
