A RESOLUTION COMPLETING THE FINANCIAL OBLIGATION OF THE CITY OF
TIFFIN TO THE TIFFIN FIRE ASSOCIATION IN RESPECT TO THE PAYMENT OF
DEBT FOR THE CURRENT PUMPER TRUCK
Whereas, the Tiffin City Council approved an agreement and contract for Fire, Rescue
and EMS Services with the Tiffin Fire Association, better known as the Transition
Agreement, at the May 18, 2021, council meeting; and,
Whereas, the transition agreement stated the process and various changes that would
take place during the timeframe in which the Tiffin Fire Association would transition to
become a city department under the Tiffin City Council; and,
Whereas, one of the items within the transition agreement is the Responsibility for
Existing Obligations, stating the City shall pay off debt of the Association which is now
approximately in the amount of $400,000 for a pumper truck,
Now, therefore be it resolved, that in exchange for the transfer of all assets, accounts
and other items according to the Transition Agreement, the City Council of the City of
Tiffin, Iowa, on July 1, 2022, or as close to that date as possible, shall pay off the debt
on the pumper truck.
On this 21St day of June, 2022, at a regular meeting of Tiffin City Council, Tiffin, Iowa,
Councilperson Limkemann introduced RESOLUTION 2022-059, A RESOLUTION
COMPLETING THE FINANCIAL OBLIGATION OF THE CITY OF TIFFIN TO THE
TIFFIN FIRE ASSOCIATION IN RESPECT TO THE PAYMENT OF DEBT FOR THE
CURRENT PUMPER TRUCK and made a motion for approval. The motion was
seconded by Councilperson Havens.
Ayes: Schnedler, Olney, Limkemann, Orris, Havens.
Nays: None.
Absent: None.
Whereupon five Council members were present and voted approval and Mayor Berner
declared that the RESOLUTION NO. 2022-059, A RESOLUTION COMPLETING THE
FINANCIAL OBLIGATION OF THE CITY OF TIFFIN TO THE TIFFIN FIRE
ASSOCIATION IN RESPECT TO THE PAYMENT OF DEBT FOR THE CURRENT
PUMPER TRUCK to be adopted and signified his approval of the same by affixing his
signature thereto.
Passed by the City Council on the 21St day of June, 2022.
